Job Overview:

This position assumes responsibility for planning, directing and monitoring of a comprehensive EOC/ safety program at multiple inpatient, outpatient and support facility locations. This position also evaluates, identifies, plans, coordinates, and leads system-wide and entity based EOC activities. This position actively communicates and works closely with identified internal/ external customers, regulatory inspectors and emergency event teams.

Job Requirements:

Graduate of an approved technical, professional, or vocational program; Certified as a healthcare EOC specialist or CHFM Equivalent experience accepted in lieu of degree
Participates in a TJC survey or equivalent regulatory inspections
Ability to research/interpret governmental code requirements
Requires the ability to manage computer programs and projects
Excellence in interpersonal and written communication skills
ASHE, OHA, etc.

Job Responsibilities:

Manages a comprehensive program of preventative maintenance activities to ensure utilities, environmental systems and other building systems operate properly and efficiently. Prioritizes, coordinates, and assigns work through verbal instructions/directions, hospital work requests, and, as requested from upper management. Develops and maintains record keeping and reporting system for Work Orders and Assests
Serves as EOC co-chair and subject matter expert on internal and external EOC matters. Collaborates with system and facility teams: EOC teams, clinical discipline teams, facility leadership, risk management, and other groups as appropriate. Develops and coordinates training and education of employees, physicians, students, and third party personnel on EOC issues.
Develops standards to measure performance and improvements in accordance with the regulatory agencies and TriHealth targets. Presents data, deficiencies identified during surveillance/monitoring, and the status of implementation/mitigations to key stakeholders, leadership and identified committees. Maintains ongoing EOC monitoring for organizational risk within the areas of responsibility.
Participants in the development and implementation of standardized EOC practices at system and facility levels. Assists with development and implementation of the EOC programs and associated employee safety activities.

Other Job-Related Information:

TriHealth's EOC / Safety teams are a newly remade process that has expanded it's practice beyond the traditional "Environment of Care" model and into a more mainstream Facilities operation. This position is involved in many types of audits/risk assessments both within the inpatient hospital setting as well as the outpatient ambulatory arena. Monitoring, investigating and assisting with employee injury mitigation is very common as are other types of safety investigation. As a professional team we are constantly working to educate and improve our knowledge and expertise in the many varying areas of compliance and safety. It is a very dynamic environment!
