Job Summary

The Senior Analyst, Domestic Tax will be responsible for assisting with Ingersoll Rand's income tax accounting function (ASC 740) and all other tax related SEC reporting requirements. The Candidate will assist with the compliance preparation process. In addition, the candidate will assist with income tax audits, calculating estimated tax payments, and mergers and acquisitions integration. The position is remote and will report to the Domestic Tax Manager. The role will have a federal focus. However, assistance with state income and franchise tax items will be required on an as needed basis.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with preparation of consolidated federal and state income tax returns.
  • Assist with federal and state income tax provision process (actual and budget/forecast)
  • Gather federal and state fixed asset data.
  • Participate in the federal and state estimated tax payment process.
  • Interact and communicate effectively with various business personnel and business units to identify variables which will impact federal and state income tax.
  • Provide data collection and research support on federal and state income tax audits.
  • Support tax department with special projects including mergers and acquisitions, post-acquisition tax integration, and other key tax initiatives.
  • Perform research and other ad hoc projects as assigned

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. CPA and/or MST preferred.
  • 3+ years of tax experience in a medium to large organization or CPA firm.
  • Working knowledge of ASC 740
  • Experience with One Source-OTP and/or CorpTax compliance is a strong plus.
  • Experience with tax research databases such as CCH, RIA, etc.
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills for multi-tasking and meeting deadlines
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to apply tax law to Company facts.
  • Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Must demonstrate a strong desire for continuous improvement and seek to improve/expand their knowledge and capabilities
