About the Department

The University of Cincinnati Department of Athletics competes at the highest level of intercollegiate athletics with the vision to reach Next Level Success for all 18 varsity teams and more than 500 student-athletes. The Bearcats have a proud athletics history, winning eight national championships and 117 conference titles. The Cincinnati men's basketball team is among the 15 winningest programs all-time, while the football team became the first American Athletic Conference program to compete in the College Football Playoff in 2021. Olympic gold medalist volleyball player Jordan Thompson, NBA Hall of Famer Oscar Robertson and Major League Baseball legend Sandy Koufax are among the several luminaries who have competed as Bearcats.

Job Overview

The University of Cincinnati (UC), Department of Athletics seeks applications for an Assistant Director of Compliance. This is a full-time position, with a comprehensive benefits package.

The position will report to the Associate AD of Compliance and will serve as day-to-day compliance liaison for assigned sports through coordination, planning and monitoring of all aspects of NCAA compliance while following University of Cincinnati and departmental policies, NCAA Division I, and Conference bylaws and regulations.

Essential Functions
  • Assist with managing the direction, design, implementation, and enforcement of the NCAA Compliance Program. Continually assess and evaluate program content and effectiveness and make modifications consistent with department goals.
  • Research and interpret NCAA legislation and recommend policy and procedure changes as needed. Collect, analyze and audit NCAA forms and related compliance documentation.
  • Prepare reports. Collect, audit, analyze documentation and provide expert advice to university and external officials. Maintain accurate and up to date records related to compliance with NCAA.
  • Assist with managing the development of training materials and delivery of training to coaches, staff, university personnel, and student-athletes.
  • Assist with managing investigations and reporting problems related to NCAA regulations.
  • Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time.
Required Education
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Five (5) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.
Required Experience

One (1) year of work experience in collegiate athletics.

Additional Qualifications Considered

The position requires some evening and weekend hours and travel with teams.
