Join us! As our next Quality Specialist, reporting to our Head of Quality in Devon, you will maintain and improve the local quality and food safety programs aligned with global policies, regulatory and customer requirements.Participate in local Vendor and Customer Quality Programs aligned with global policies, manage Customer Complaints and improve and compliance of Customer requirements

In this exciting role, you will be responsible for:

Manage local Quality and Food Safety programs aligned with global policy

  • Help maintain the local quality/food safety documentation
  • Maintain the local quality, food safety and food defense programs, along with the responsibilities for programs such as halal, kosher and organic.
  • Lead Internal audits and monthly food safety inspections
  • Lead the execution of internal and customer driven quality and food safety system requirements
  • Provide mentoring and training on quality and food safety to all staff
  • Manage food safety non-conformances, including participation and review of the root causes, trend analysis and action follow-up

Implement Quality and Food Safety Programs aligned with global policies

  • Help implement globally agreed quality and food safety system requirements from customers
  • Help implement globally new or updated global/regional quality and food safety system policies
  • Manage/support customer audits and resulting improvement plans
  • Manage/support regulatory audits and resulting improvement plans
  • Manage/support certification/program audits and resulting improvement plans
  • Perform and report on vendor audits
  • Participate , lead projects for quality and food safety improvements at the site
  • Promote quality notification compliance (ie: closing, cost data, adherence to Givaudan policies).

Manage Customer Complaints and drive performance improvement/compliance of Customer requirements

  • Implement globally /regionally agreed quality requirements from customers
  • Manage Customer Complaints, provide response and escalate
  • Promote/Coordinate programs to improve customer complaints performance

Key KPIs

  • Quality and Food Safety Systems Compliance (Certifications/FSSV score)
  • Customer Complaint rate
  • Internal non-conformance rate

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, Food Service or related field with minimum 3 years experience in Quality Assurance/ Management/Control.
  • Background in Quality and Food Safety Systems such as ISO 9001, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, FDA requirements (PCQI), and Food Defense. Lead/internal auditor experience.
  • Knowledge of systems as SAP, Databases, Microsoft Office products.
