Ellwood Crankshaft Group is the world's leading manufacturer and remanufacturer of large, one-of-a-kind, multiple-throw crankshafts. ECG's products and services include crankshafts and eccentrics used in mechanical stamping presses, reciprocating air and gas compressors, reciprocating pumps, engines and other miscellaneous applications. ECG services the locomotive, shipping, mechanical press, oil and gas and compression markets.

We are seeking an Accounting Intern to help support our facilities throughout Pennsylvania. This hourly, non-exempt position, which will be located out of the ECM facility in Hermitage, PA, will require some travel and will report directly to the Controller.

RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Assist, back-up or be directly responsible for various aspects of Financial Accounting, which could include the general ledger, journal entries, month-end closing, reconciliations, accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory and other financial analysis as needed.
  • Assist with the Fixed Asset physical inventory of the Irvine, PA location, including the reconciliation to the Fixed Asset System.
  • Assist in performing end-to-end process documentation of Syteline 10 processes.
  • Conduct a physical inventory of the "boneyard" in the Sharon, PA warehouse of stored equipment, office furniture, etc.
  • Assist in preparing monthly financial statements, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP).
  • Transfer electronic files from ECG Sharepoint to SL10
    • Vendor files such as W9s & Certificate of Insurance
    • Customer files tax exemption forms.
  • Perform other special projects for the finance and accounting department as they arise.
  • Perform all other necessary duties, responsibilities, and projects, as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completion of a minimum of 2 years towards Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and/or Business Administration
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent computer skills with ability to use all Microsoft Office products.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
  • Detail oriented with ability to prioritize multiple projects.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at the highest level and perform with minimal supervision.
  • Some regional travel required.
