Position Summary:

The Maintenance Team Lead coordinates repairs for machines and company equipment. They may be responsible for evaluating problematic systems within the facilities and determining what installation or repair services need to be performed. Maintenance-related duties include performing initial evaluations of repairs needed, costs, and assisting with distributing work assignments.

Team:

Overview of team this role will be a part of the Mt. Orab Maintenance team reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager.

  • Inspect machines periodically to determine problems and necessary maintenance
  • Locates hard to find parts or special equipment
  • Documents SOPs and processes
  • Coaching and teaching others
  • Prepare daily maintenance schedules and allocate work to techs based on known skills/abilities
  • Contribute to the development of maintenance and parts budget and ensure compliance
  • Monitor inventory of materials and equipment
  • Participate in coordination of projects (e.g., machine installs)
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards and health and safety regulations
  • Develops and maintains a preventative maintenance schedule program for applicable equipment and machinery
  • Arranges for and manages appropriate third-party contractor support as needed
  • Prepares budgets and secures estimates and cost quotes as needed for manager review
  • Enforces sound safety and housekeeping practices
  • Makes recommendations based on technical expertise
  • Assists others in making repairs, as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school or GED education
  • 5 years of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Both written and verbal good communication
  • Strong technical skills including mechanical and electrical systems, troubleshooting, and repair techniques
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics; Both electrical and mechanical
  • Problem solving skills
  • Attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to coach, mentor, and teach others
  • Experience with ERP systems. JD Edwards a plus
  • Experience with a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), preferably asset essentials

  • Knowledge of health & safety practices and regulations
  • Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or minimum
