Day & Zimmermann is actively accepting applications for a full time On-Site Field Accounting Manager in Ghent, KY.

Field Accounting Manager is responsible for various field-based transactional accounting functions including timekeeping, payroll processing support, and billing support, along with other associated internal and customer reporting and office administration activities, such as:

  • Use SAP, Microsoft Office, and internal corporate applications such as Connex, eOnboarding, TempHelp, TimeTrak, and others as required. Duties include basic computer skills and problem solving.
  • Responsible for and coordinate time entry including balancing and reconciliation of daily or weekly time sheets to accountability program and SAP calculations and processing. Duties include collecting time submitted for employees and reviewing for accuracy and approval. Responsible for accuracy and balancing of time entry input. Where applicable, validate data against client database. Support accountability process through operations of Time Trak software or administration of manual accountability process. Responsible for submission of payroll to Corporate. Print, verify and distribute all payroll checks. Support and review per diem documentation and compliance as required.
  • Perform and coordinate employee setup and terminations, onboarding and support functions, including all hiring information, W4's, direct deposits for craft and temporary staff employees. Responsible for accurate daily and periodic reporting, including but not limited to force reports, labor hours reports, attendance reporting. May include support of I9 submission process to e-Verify and other compliance reporting
  • Establish and maintain site specific procedures related to these functions. Interfaces with Corporate Accounting to ensure control and integrity of transactional field accounting and administrative processes. Continuously work with operations leaders to ensure contractual compliances to terms and conditions.
  • Oversees Time Keepers with various day-to-day responsibilities, if appropriate. Ensures project files are maintained according to client and D&Z retention control and audit procedures. Assist in client, company, and other outside audits as needed. Other duties as assigned by Director, Field Accounting Services.

This role is for you if you have these skills:
  • Ability to develop and maintain productive relationships with clients and employees. Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Awareness of general accounting functions. Ability to apply concrete financial analysis concepts beyond simple adherence to detailed procedures and instructions, recommending solutions to unique issues.
  • Awareness of transactional accounting and cost control principles. Overall understanding of payroll, billing, contract set-up and compliance, including A/R, A/P and fringe processes is required.
  • Highly organized with the ability to effectively and efficiently multi-task with strong detail orientation and with the ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Advanced proficiency using Microsoft suite and knowledge of SAP or other ERP system preferred.
  • Demonstrates leadership and supervisory skills

And if you have these qualifications:
  • BA or related experience
  • SAP or other ERP systems knowledge preferred
  • 1 - 3 years of experience
  • Must be able to pass a drug/alcohol screening and any other background screening or training required for site access

  • Expertise in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Win Estimator is a plus
  • Ability to regularly perform all job functions at Company's office or worksite.
  • Ability to withstand environmental conditions (e.g. extreme heat or cold, grass, wind, sand, fumes, odors, gases, extreme noise, etc.)

In compliance with this state's pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $28,000 - $100,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and other factors.
