Our Eastern Midwest Region facilities department is looking for a skilled and talented individual who enjoys traveling to new sites on a regular basis. Our regional office is in Cincinnati, OH, but this position allows for the candidate to be remote with access to any of the regional offices.

General Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and develop repair/restoration solutions for the built environment. This includes all major components and systems of buildings and other infrastructure.
  • Projects range from property condition assessments to detailed evaluations of structural systems, roofs, facades, plaza deck and below grade waterproofing systems, MEP systems, pavements, industrial floors, and construction materials.
  • Assessment techniques include, visual examination, non-destructive testing, instrumentation and load testing, laboratory testing, and destructive examinations.
  • Client deliverables range from reports of findings and recommendations to development of restoration design documents and construction oversight/administration. Capital reserve cost tables are used in reports.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Senior level Facilities professional who acts as a resource and specialist in regard to property condition assessments and facility condition assessments.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member, depending on the project, to lead field investigations, observations, and inspections.
  • Ability to learn and utilize proprietary versions of Quire or Paragon for reporting.
  • Capable of analyzing all technical aspects of subject area, defining scope and selecting problems for investigation, developing novel concepts and approaches, and recommending solutions.
  • Prepare proposals, reports and presentations that are professional in language with a logical use of technical ideas and recommendations. Apply sound engineering principals and be able to communicate engineering concepts to technical and non-technical clients and project teams.
  • Provides consultation on quality issues.
  • Identifies potential clients in need of consulting expertise and sells the services of the company to those clients.
  • Maintain leadership level influence with appropriate technical committees and societies. Actively participate in professional organizations.
  • Follow safety rules, guidelines and standards for all projects. Participate in pre-task planning. Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
  • Promote continuous quality monitoring and improvement on projects. Ensure best practices are being followed.
  • Ensure contracts are signed and fully executed prior to commencing work.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in building science or related building field and 10+ years' experience in facility assessment. Or, in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 14 years' related experience.
  • Registered Roof Consulting (RRC), Registered Waterproofing Consultant (RWC) or other relevant certification preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history.
  • Must be able to travel 50% of the time. A typical assignment involves 1-2 days of travel and 3-4 days of reporting.
