Job Overview: Responsible for the supervision of Lead technologists, technologists, technicians, lab assistants and clerical staff as appropriate in department, including scheduling, duty assignments, quality control, quality assurance, productivity, maintenance and repair of equipment, ordering supplies, and implementation of new equipment and procedures. Interacts with other section supervisors to maintain standardization of equipment, policies and procedures and communication. Works effectively with other supervisors to cover all lab needs. Responsible for all functions in department in the absence of the manager. Job Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in B.S. or Equivalent Experience and M.T.(ASCP) , C.T.(ASCP) , H.T. (ASCP) or Equivalent Certification Required American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP), M.T.(ASCP), C.T. (ASCP), H.T. (ASCP) or Equivalent Certification Required Demonstrate expertise in handling personnel issues is a highly desirable 2-3 years experience Management Allied Health Two to three years experience in CAP accredited lab required Two to three years previous management Job Responsibilities: Responsible for efficient use of personnel, capital equipment and consumables as they relate the the technical sections. Assists with the budget preparation regarding staff and supplies. Responsible for implementing procedures regarding JCAHO, CAP, OSHA, AABB and CLIA 88. Ensures high quality laboratory data regarding accuracy, precision and service. Responsible for monitoring quality control, proficiency surveys, instrument maintenance and repairs and section quality assurance reports. Provides timely and essential communications to management (concerning personnel, equipment, complaints, etc.) and to employees (regarding new policies, procedures and general information). Has contact with customers (patients, physicians and nursing) reg Maintain high employee morale through effective management. Utilizes team building techniques to problem solve and improve sections.
