Friday-Sunday

6:00pm- 6:00am

Core Responsibilities:

  • Performs all activities necessary to select and regulate furnace temperatures for specific treating jobs.
  • Position material on platen according to operation sheet and load furnace for time prescribed heating cycles to bring materials to proper temperatures.
  • Remove from furnace when cooled to proper temperature.
  • Perform quarterly surveys.
  • Perform visual braze.
  • Interpret and integrate all processes to ensure consistent, capable parts are manufactured in a production environment.
  • Perform and complete first article inspections utilizing all shop gauging including applicable plate work and visual inspection of parts to ensure proper flow of the process. Assist others in parts inspection.
  • Interface with Manufacturing, Engineering and other functions on processing issues and works as a team to develop a "capable" process to ensure all parts are processed per standards.
  • Practice safe work habits, maintains clean working environment, and performs routine preventative maintenance and other duties as directed by Team Leader.
  • Must continually build technical skills in area of expertise which is required to aid the facility in meeting Division targets and goals.
  • Learn and adhere to required safety standards and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Lean Principles and 6S. Drive process and lean improvements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 3 - 5 years previous vacuum furnace and coating furnaces experience.
  • Able to communicate verbally and / or in writing with other employees, team members and supervision as necessary.
  • Must be able to read and interpret operation sheets.
  • Basic math skills are essential to this position.
  • Demonstrates intermediate computer skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem solving abilities.
  • Schedule and organize time and tasks effectively.
  • Ability to work in a challenging and schedule driven environment.

Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Technical school for Machinist skilled-trade is a differentiator.

This position is a safety sensitive position. Applicant must comply with all applicable FAA and DOT drug and alcohol testing rules
