What's the role?

As an Order Entry Technician, you get to work with an astonishing team that plays a vital role in Carl Zeiss Vision, Inc. in this senior level position. Show case your skills and experience with process enhancements under minimal supervision where system operations and sequences are specified by written and verbal instructions and established practices. The Order Entry Technician has advanced knowledge of lens availabilities and ability to trouble shoot system issues within Rx Portal. You will perform a wide range of tasks ranging from routine to more advanced or difficult tasks associated with the Portal order entry processes.

Here's what you'll do:

  • Understanding of lab entry system.

  • Review, edit, and categorize all orders, confirming proper coding and data accuracy within Portal.

  • Editing comments to the labs to assure clear information is dropping into the labs processing system.

  • Manually enter orders into the Portal from submitted paper RX order forms.

  • Applying any special billing codes, to assure correct billing.

  • Restarting escalated orders after researching and trouble shooting

  • Research and clarify for appropriate invoicing and credits (both private pay and insurance billing).

  • Communicate with customer service agents to ensure complete, clean orders and respond to agent and account inquiries.

  • Run daily/weekly audits and reports for analysis, guaranteeing quality and minimizing delay of orders.

  • Work directly with Lab IT to assure proper translation tables for incoming remote-entry orders.

  • Must collect and maintain knowledge of product portfolio and coating combinations.

  • Honest, dependable and be able to follow directions either written or verbal.

  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.

  • May receive cross training in other departments.

Do you qualify?

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Strong customer focus and customer service attitude.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills for professional interactions with customers and stakeholders from other VIS departments.

  • Strong ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under certain time pressure, high flexibility, and adaptability to changing priorities.

  • Considerable judgment and initiative to resolve any problems, make robust recommendations and / or escalate to the appropriate management level.

  • Strong problem solving, teamwork, and time management skills.

  • 3 to 5 years of either technical customer service experience and / or optical experience.

  • Willingness and ability to catch up on customer service and / or optical skills & knowledge (depending on individual background and experience).

  • Solid computer and Microsoft Office skills, in particular Excel and Word.
