Job Overview:

The Health Equity Performance Improvement Specialist reports to the Director, PTI. They serve as an internal consultant to management, staff, and physicians and provide leadership support for strategic project and programs. They will also partner closely with Executive and Health System leaders to plan and implement enterprise-wide change and organizational transformation strategies that align with TriHealth's five strategic pillars: people, growth, service, quality, and finance. They will be accountable for managing multiple projects and priorities, timely execution, implementation and management of deliverables, and professionalism consistent with the TriHealth Values and Always Behaviors and serve as a mentor/coach for Process Analyst (level 1) roles.
The Health Equity Performance Improvement Specialist will be responsible for designing, implementing, and measuring the impact of initiatives to eliminate health disparities among TriHealth's patients. The specialist will utilize evidenced-based practices and data-driven approaches to guide decision making, and operational process development. This role will also report to the VP, Health Equity and DEI + B. This integral team member will have a demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion (belonging) and health equity, and will be passionate about promoting an inclusive and equitable health status for the external TriHealth community.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in business, Engineering, Physical or Life Science, Nursing or Allied Health field, or related field required; Advanced degree preferred.
Certification in Project Management Professional (PMP), Six Sigma, Lean, or similar training preferred.
Eight years of relevant work experience (in healthcare, operations, or consulting preferred). Advanced degree may offset up to 2 years' experience.
3 years Clinical or Healthcare operations preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Work, PowerPoint and Excel. Advanced data analytics capability (e.g. Excel, Access, SQL, Minitab) a plus

Job Responsibilities:

Applies tools and techniques in process improvement (Lean, Six-Sigma, IHI Improvement Model, etc.), project management, organizational development, change management, performance monitoring and data analysis.
Advanced level of expertise and professionalism in spreadsheet, word processing, presentation, process flow mapping, and project management software required.
Project planning rigor including defining project scope, creating charters and work plans. Supports implementation with operational owners, including evaluation, tracking progress against timelines, identifying/ resolving barriers, and recommending adjustments while creatively engaging project teams and internal customers.
Analyzes assigned areas of operations for potential improvement opportunities associated with quality, safety, flow, inventory control, standardization, line balance and level loading of work.
Identifies appropriate metrics for a given process/project. Assists in the establishment of operational performance measurements and the monitoring of trends in key performance indicators to evaluate efficiency, effectiveness, quality, safety, cost, etc. using information systems data when available and developing data collection systems, tools and methods when needed.
Positively interacts with TriHealth team members at all levels of the organization, with an ability to form strong working relationships, and capability of facilitating teams to resolve conflict.
Identifies and overcomes barriers and risks that prohibit timely project completion and success. Is able to escalate issues, if needed, for resolution.
Identifies Process Improvement knowledge gaps within project teams, creates and conducts training in Lean principles, methods, and tools, as needed, in the appropriate format for the situation. Serves as mentor, coach, facilitator, technical resource (in the areas described above) and participant on team-based improvement projects.
