MCC Batavia has a variety of press assistant, finishing operator and production support positions open.  These are not entry level positions, but rather semi-skilled positions that require prior manufacturing/machine operation experience.   These positions offer a starting hourly wage between $16.00 and $21.00 per hour; night shift positions pay an additional $1.50 - $2.00/hr shift premium.  Night shift positions also offer a sign on bonus of $750.00. Limited day shift positions are also available.

Make Ready/Production Support – this role is responsible for preparing the job to run on the press; they stage the items needed for the press to run, mount plates and then clean the plates and metering roll so they can be used again.   Those that are successful in Make Ready move up to Press Assistant and then Press Operator

You may like this job if you do don’t mind getting your hands dirty, you do well with time management, working with limited direction; you have a strong attention to detail, respond quickly to change and are eager to learn new things.

Flexographic/Lithographic Press Assistant – this role is responsible for staging the next job for the press, assisting the press operator with changeover from one job to the next keeping the job running on the press and performing routine quality checks.  Great Press Assistants are provided training to advance to Press Operator.

Finishing Operator (Slitter/Cutter) – these roles work with the finished product that comes from the press room.  A Finishing Operator uses a machine with dies and blades to cut the labels to the size specified by the customer

You may like this job if you are mechanically inclined and have experience working with manufacturing equipment, you like to stay busy and work fast, have a passion for quality/attention to detail and have basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply). 



Blumer Operator – this role works with finished product that comes from the press room.  The Blumer is a complex piece of equipment that requires both mechanical aptitude and computer/tech experience.

We are also seeking Flexographic and Lithographic Press Operators.  Night shift positions are available with a starting pay up to $28.00/hr plus $2.00 night shift premium and a generous sign on bonus.
