Company Overview About MCFIThe Milwaukee Center for Independence (MCFI) is a community resource for children, teens, adults and older adults with special needs and other barriers to achievement. Although the agency was founded more than 70 years ago, the past 10 years have brought rapid growth, from programs serving about 1,000 clients in 2000 to programs and services for more than 10,000 individuals today. This is in response to the needs of a growing population of people with special needs in Southeastern Wisconsin. MCFI's more than 500 staff members are continually developing better methods of assisting people who face challenges in participating in the life of our community. Everything we do is aimed at assisting our clients to achieve their highest levels of independence and create a meaningful, fulfilling and joyful life. MCFI is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, community-based agency.
