Summary 

The Wash Line Operator is a crucial role in the plastics recycling process, responsible for efficiently operating and managing the wash line system to prepare plastic materials for recycling. This position involves hands-on work, ensuring the cleaning and quality preparation of plastics for further processing. 


Essential Functions 

  • Operate and oversee the wash line system to clean and prepare plastic materials for recycling. Monitor the equipment for smooth and effective operation. 

  • Conduct material sorting as an integral part of the wash line process, efficiently removing contaminants to maintain the quality of recyclable materials. 

  • Conduct visual inspections of cleaned plastic materials to ensure they meet quality standards. Identify and address any issues or deviations in the recycling process. 

  • Perform routine maintenance on wash line equipment to ensure proper functionality. Report any mechanical issues or malfunctions for timely repairs. 

  • Collaborate with the recycling team to identify opportunities for process optimization, efficiency improvement, and waste reduction within the wash line operation. 

  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment. Report any safety concerns or incidents promptly. 

  • Maintain accurate records of daily operations, including production quantities, quality control measures, and any equipment maintenance performed. 

  • Work closely with other members of the recycling team to coordinate and streamline the overall recycling process. 

  • Provide training to new team members on wash line operation procedures, safety protocols, and quality standards. 


Position Qualifications 

Experience:  

  • Minimum of 1-3 years of hands-on experience in plastics recycling or a similar manufacturing environment, specifically operating wash line systems. 

  • Familiarity with operating and troubleshooting wash line equipment. Basic mechanical aptitude gained through practical experience is beneficial. 

  • Prior experience in conducting material sorting and quality control inspections in a recycling setting. 

  • Proven track record of actively participating in equipment maintenance and process optimization initiatives.
