Purpose of Position
This position is responsible for the development and implementation of the University’s website enhancements, University content updates and web page creation. In addition, the Web Developer and Analyst will serve as project manager as new website and digital initiatives are developed and launched. 

This position plays a key role in outlining future web technology, contributing to execution and use of new digital applications, and ensuring NKU’s online presence is coherent, follows the University brand and website standards and aligned with NKU’s strategic framework and brand.

The Web Developer and Analyst supports NKU’s academic and business units by updating current website capabilities and implements website updates as new opportunities and initiatives are conceived, developed, and launched. The Web Developer and Analyst will report to the Senior Director, University Marketing and Brand Strategy.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Implements university web strategy related to site layout, content priorities and site usability/accessibility consistent with University branding and marketing guidelines. 

  • Works with Senior Web Developer and Marketing Director to research and implement strategic marketing initiatives through the use of the website, continually evaluate and refine search-based tactics (Search Engine Optimization and Search Engine Marketing) to grow site traffic; monitor Google Analytics website metrics to inform and establish website strategy.

  • Monitors university content authors and editors to ensure conformity of content and design across the university website. Ensures that the website is in compliance with Northern Kentucky University, Commonwealth of Kentucky and federal laws, rules, regulations, guidelines and procedures.

  • Promotes the university website as a marketing and information tool. Maintains currency with industry trends in web communications and marketing technologies and implements when appropriate.

  • Ensure compliance with enterprise IS policy, process, procedures and controls by all staff. 

  • Conducts regular reporting audits of website performance for reporting to leadership and to use as a base to recommends plan for site updates and enhancements based on University business priorities, data, market or higher education trends, etc.

  • Serves as a key member on the Emergency Response Team for the University’s website in conjunction with IT.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of related experience required. 

  • Microsoft Office suite, Web editing skills, Google Analytics 

  • Ability to analyze data; make recommendations about ROI for short-term and long-term results

  • Excellent interpersonal, written, communication and presentation skills

  • Strong leadership skills, experience in coaching and managing others and successfully leading project teams

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting and contribute creative ideas
