As we grow, we seek an experienced Survey</span><strong style="color:#515151"> CAD Technician </strong><span style="color:#515151">in our Virginia Beach, VA office or Dayton, OH.</span></p> <p><span style="color:#515151">The Survey CAD Technician will work collectively with the Task Manager and cross-functional internal departments. Our Survey CAD Technician is responsible for preparing route surveys to state and federal standards, utility inventory surveys, and roadway right-of-way plans. In addition, this role provides reduction of field data, land record research, preparation of boundary surveys, and topographic maps to meet internal and external customer requirements. Our Survey CAD Technician will have a proven ability to work with cross-functional internal contacts to execute the required work. Responsible for interacting with the client staff professionally and proactively to resolve issues, track progress, perform Quality Assurance work associated with the requirements, make necessary corrections, and continually manage schedule and ensure quality.</span></p> <p><strong style="color:#515151">Responsibilities:</strong></p> <ul><li>Develop, implement, and document data management workflows, specifications, and processes</li><li>Convert data between standard spatial data formats, including but not limited to AutoCAD or MicroStation.</li><li>Prepares highway right-of-way maps</li><li>Research and interpret government files, utilities, and public land record documentation. </li><li>Conduct courthouse research; manage project files; complete work processes using multiple surveys, CADD, and digital terrain modeling software, as well as other non-CADD applications</li><li>Produce accurate and legible maps, survey reports and legal descriptions, or displays for various departments</li><li>Verify map feature and attribute accuracies</li><li>View plans/plats at different developmental stages for compliance with standards</li><li>Skills in 3D Models such as DTM/TIN analysis, creation, & modification.</li><li>Identify and recommend process improvements and enhancements on existing projects</li></ul> <p><strong style="color:#515151">Requirements:</strong></p> <ul><li>Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Geography, CAD, or related field preferred</li><li>5+ years of MicroStation experience</li><li>Autocad experience is a plus</li><li>G.I.S. related experience is a plus</li><li>Demonstrated knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Trimble Business Center</li><li>Experience using MicroStation with GeoPak and OpenRoads required</li><li>Survey-in-Training (S.I.T.) designation is a plus</li><li>Ability to read/interpret highway plans, deeds, plats, road/bridge standards, and property records</li><li>Able to graphically present information clearly and concisely</li><li>Demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple priorities</li><li>Ability to provide excellent customer service</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills in a dynamic environment</li><li> Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with internal/external customers and follow oral and written instructions</li><li>Strong organizational, time management, attention to detail, and analytical skills</li><li>Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment; offer constructive feedback and direction to support goals</li></ul> <p> </p></div>
