Floor Care Technician Manual labor associated with the daily maintenance of carpet and floors. Employees in this job classification are under intermittent supervision and perform various duties requiring moderate physical strength (able to lift 50 pounds). Typical duties may include the following:
Obtain necessary cleaning supplies
Identify personal protective gear necessary for task assigned
Strip, wax and buff floors according to contract schedule
Perform carpet extraction and cleaning according to contract schedule
Ensure floors maintain a clean appearance at all times
Ensure spot cleaning is done on carpets within 24 hours of initial request
Maintain minimum contract standards at all times
Spot Clean upon request of building manager, inspector and/or PORTCO Supervisor.
Assist with other janitorial duties as necessary
In the absence of the Project or Building Manager, this position will serve as a Lead. Typical duties may include some of all of the following:
Assist in overseeing in house services such as cleaning, groundskeeping, maintenance/repair and other assigned services.
Inspects work performed to ensure that it meets specifications and established standards.
Instructs and trains employees in work policies and procedures and the use and maintenance of equipment; health and safety procedures and other relevant trainings.
Assists in planning and preparing employee work schedules. Inventories stock to ensure that supplies and equipment are available in adequate amounts.
Prepares activity and personnel reports. Maintains required records of work hours, payroll, work performed and other information.
Participates in staff training and development activities. Attends all mandatory meetings.
Performs and assists with direct labor duties as necessary.
Assists with the vocational needs of those employees with varying disabilities
